Lively abstract paintings
I was on the verge of dropping out of college so my advisor suggested that I take a “semester of joy”, choosing only courses that were interesting to me. I enrolled in Painting and changed my major to Visual Arts shortly after. That was 8 years ago and I haven’t stopped creating since!

Artist / Creative / Maker
I wake up early so that I can have a slow morning with my coffee and meditation. I head out to work at Preservation Press where I get to work creatively with a different medium of pressed flowers. After work I go for a long run with all my favorite musicians. I’ll usually grab dinner with friends or hang out with family for a bit before returning home to get a painting session in. If there’s no time for painting durning the week, I will always get it in on Sunday mornings.

My work is heavily influenced by nature and music. There’s a constant movement in both that I try to capture within my paintings. I don’t care too much about the finer details. I’m just here to have a good time!
Within the last year, I’ve had to be more disciplined with my time. If I don’t schedule a painting day or time to feed the creative part of me, it probably won’t happen! Writing out my days and weeks on paper are crucial for me.
It’s a successful day when I can find joy in the little things and pass that along to someone else.
“My art isn’t good enough.”
I don’t know whose standards I was aiming for but I finally had to let this idea go if I was going to enjoy painting and sell my work. I had to learn how to fall in love with my work and be proud of what I’ve created.
