Gabby FruFru

Baton Rouge, LA

Favorite Color:

The softest most whimsical lilac

What do you sell/make/offer:

I create lighthearted products for lighthearted people such as earrings, hair accessories, and stationary.

What made you get started in the first place?

Because my creativity is a celebration of my individualism, I've always experimented with different mediums. I stumbled upon accessories and explored different ways to create them in the most whimsical ways. I never looked back.

What item of yours is inside the 2024 Galentine Box?

Heart shaped pin

Your "treat yo self"go to?

My "treat yo self" go to is taking a nice trip to any craft store, stocking up on my favorite supplies, and buying other things to inspire me to continue creating.

Besides being a "small business", what other hats do you wear:

Owner / Artist / Maker / Creative / Crafter / Dreamer

Describe briefly what your job/workflow may look like on a "busy" day?

I work a full-time day job so most of my nights and weekends are dedicated to fulfilling orders, experimenting with different ideas, answering customer emails and dm, and making the biggest mess of glitter. I participate in markets on several weekends as well as pop-up at different shops around Baton Rouge.

What is your "dream gig"?

My big dream is to re-open my creative studio only bigger and better. It will be a designated place for me fulfill orders, create content, and help other crafters with their crafting ideas.

What motivates/inspires your work?

Creating is a form of self-expression. It's a love letter to myself to ensure that I remember I am wonderfully made. When my customers buy my creations and share that sentiment I know I am doing right in my life. It inspires me to continue with message to explore and celebrate your wonderfully created self.

Name a productivity tip that you rely heavily on:

I live by my lists and Pinterest boards. I look at those two things daily to remind me of where I am and of what I am working towards. The Office or music in the background never hurts either.

How do you measure success?

I measure success by many things. Sometimes it's a feeling or an event. I love to see sales, but connecting with people that relate to my brand has been the best most unexpected reward. People that get it gives me a certain type of joy that has no words to describe it.

Name one belief/thought you had to let go of in order to get to where you are today:

This list can go on forever, but the biggest would be…

"No one is going to like that but you."

Once I gave myself the permission to not only experiment, but to share at markets I feel like I began to connect with my customers on a totally different level. It gives me great confidence to know that a lot of my wonky ideas sell out quickly.

Where can I buy more of what you make/offer?

I have an Etsy at gabbyfrufru.com. I also sell locally at Local Supply BR in Baton Rouge
