Part-time
feminine, colorful, intimate, minimalist, fun, clean
Most mornings I wake to Izzy, my childhood cat, sniffing my eyelids and pawing at my hair. Typical cat things I suppose. The first thing I do is use the bathroom and then I feed my cat. When I’m living my best life I wake up at 8 am and pray before work. In the mornings where that doesn’t happen, I have about 10 minutes to get ready before it’s time for me to get ready. My husband drives me to work every day at a fine art supply store in Ruston. I spend most of my day answering calls, interacting with customers, trimming prints, and laser engraving all sorts of materials. My job is a God-sent. I love it. My husband picks me up and then we eat dinner. Usually, something that he cooked. And then for the rest of the night, my time is split between playing games with my husband, watching anime or a K-Drama, and painting/drawing. I go to sleep at an ungodly hour and repeat the process.

I feel inspired by nature. Things just exist without any help from humanity. Things that outlive us because I think the timelessness of nature adds an element of timelessness to my work as well.
I’ve lived in Louisiana my entire life and I think I have a desire to make work that doesn’t feel so niche that you have to be here to experience it or to “get it.” I suppose I don't want my work to feel like a particular state, but instead a particular time or specific location. I have a few pieces that people have told me it reminds of them of something they've seen somewhere else or experienced somewhere else, but most of the things I create are completely fictionalized.
Finding new things to be interested in and sharing that with other people
Feeling original. Sometimes I worry that I’m just making work that everyone has seen before, but honestly, I don’t think it really matters. I just want to be comfortable making work that I enjoy. I think that’d be enough.
